These marvelous flavours conduct us to Southeast towards the Summit of Gran Canaria.
Only a few people know about Gran Canaria large and strong cheese tradition. The varieties you can find in our territory are not only driven by the animal’s raw milk high quality but also our microclimate that helps to produce unimaginable textures and flavours. Our first gastronomy stop is at a local cheese farm. A tiny cheese family farm that has been producing cheese for three generations. You are going to find out all your questions about this delicious fresh homemade cheese while seeing them working and of course taste some samples.
From the cheese farm, there is a winding road, covered with colourful leaves in spring and ocher in summer that takes us to the Village of Santa Lucía. At this gorgeous village we are having our second gastronomy experience. A coffee break at a local bakery, where we can taste some homemade sweets. And as we have refilled our batteries we’ll continue to the vineyards located in La Caldera de Tirajana. You’ll understand the difficulty of growing grapes in the island and also the importance of the volcanic soil for the vines. Get the sense of the wine, be familiar with our endemic grapes. We’ll take a walk by the vines. From these vineyards we can see the view of the mountains in the summit, its cliffs brushing the clouds and the palm forest dotted with the white houses of the village of Santa Lucía. A unique landscape!
And last but not least the winery. We have to drive by Tirajana spectacular caldera to get there. In the winery you’ll have a personal tour and tasting with three wines + aperitif based on local products such as cheese, olive and their own delicious extra virgin olive oil.

We recommended you to wear comfortable clothes and sport shoes, as well as, sun protection and warm clothes (remember that the summit is a high mountain area with large thermal contrasts and high solar radiation).
